Do I need a ticket to attend the show?
No. The West 18th Street Fashion Show is a free outdoor event with a limited number of Front Row and Spectator (2nd and 3rd rows) seats available for purchase. So, as always, you do not need a ticket to attend, but most would rather enjoy a seat with a clear view along the runway. Also, in the event of rain, the show will be moved to an indoor location, and only ticket holders will be allowed entry.
When and where is the show?
The 2018 show is on June 9, 2018. We advise ticket holders take their seats by 8:00 p.m. Once the show begins, it lasts approximately two hours. It takes place on an outdoor catwalk on West 18th Street, in between Baltimore and Wyandotte Streets.
When and where do tickets go on sale?
Tickets will go on sale in May through our website. You can also buy tickets at Birdies Lingerie.
Can I bring my own chair?
No. Due to the layout of the event, patrons’ personal chairs will not be allowed. Please be advised this rule will be strictly enforced in order to ensure the safety of all of our patrons. If you would like a seat for the show, please purchase a ticket.
What happens if it rains?
In the case of rain, only ticket holders will be allowed entry to the back-up space, which is yet another great reason to purchase a runway seat! As an outdoor event, it is important for the show to line up an indoor space in the case of rain, never jeopardizing the final consummation of our patrons viewing the designers’ hard work. In case of inclement weather, the show will be at the Kansas City Museum at the Historic Garment District at 800 Broadway Boulevard, Kansas City, Mo., 64105. Where do I park?
The runway event takes place on West 18th Street, in between Baltimore and Wyandotte. There are plenty of parking options throughout the Crossroads Arts District. Please enter the event from Baltimore Avenue. Check out this useful map.
How do I become a designer in the show?
The Call for Entries is now closed and designers have been selected. Click on 2018 Call for Entries in the menu bar on this website to learn more. The designers are selected from a large pool of applicants based on the quality of their application, experience, and interpretation of the designated theme. The 2019 Call for Entries will be posted in February 2019.
Do my designs have to be original for the show?
Yes. The West 18th Street Fashion Show features original, custom-made collections created exclusively for the show according to the designated theme. Your collection cannot be shown publicly prior to the show.
How can I be a model in the show?
With the large number of designers and the limitations of producing a live outdoor event, each model will only walk once. The designers choose their own models and style them specifically for their collection. We generally post the designers’ contact information on our website in early April, so be sure to check often and reach out to them directly. The producers of the West 18th Street Fashion Show have no say in choosing the models.
Can I sponsor the show?

Can I photograph the show or have a press pass?
Due to the large audience and the layout of the event, there is limited space for photographers. We allow for certain members of the press and our own photographers and videographers. Beyond these individuals, we simply cannot make any further accommodations for photographers; however, that does not mean you can’t take photos. We love photos! Feel free to attend, or even buy a seat, and take photos. Just be courteous to those around you, and share your photos with us on social media!
Can I volunteer?
