Theme & Collaboration

The 2019 West 18th Street Fashion Show summer runway event will take place on Saturday, June 8.

The West 18th Street Fashion Show has provided a platform for talented designers to present forward-thinking fashion to our community and beyond and plans to continue this initiative for years to come.

The West 18th Street Fashion Show is an independent platform for wearable art and design established in 2000. Founded to showcase regional creatives, the event has become an international event drawing a 2000 plus audience to a one way city block. An urban tradition with a history of inclusiveness and experimentation, live music, and a changing DIY backdrop, the West 18th Street Fashion Show has developed the landscape of an emerging downtown for nearly 20 years. The production quality and collaboration produces an opportunity for incredible images, an authentic experience and encourages generations of makers to bring their talent to a public space.

This season’s theme is Summer Adorned. “Adornment and self decoration are timeless acts of human ritual. We paint, pierce, tattoo and dress our bodies in honor and recognition of our life cycle. From our first pair of earrings to our last pair of dancing shoes, we curate the story of our lives.” – Peregrine Honig, Senior Artistic Director of West 18th Street Fashion Show
